Long-time Strikeforce commentator Mauro Ranallo is set to miss out on the promotion’s final curtain call this evening.

Ranallo will be missing from the broadcast team as he’s reported to be attending to a “private family matter.” He was also missing from Invicta FC’s last event as well.

Stepping into his shoes alongside regular color-commentators Frank Shamrock and Pat Militech will be AXS TV’s Ron Kruck.

It’s unfortunate as Ranallo was very much part of the furniture over at Strikeforce and it won’t be quite the same without him, but it’s expected that he will return to commentating for the Showtime network in the future.

Ross launched the fightofthenight.com site in 2009 as a way to channel his passion for the sport of mixed martial arts. He's since penned countless news stories and live fight reports along with dozens of feature articles as the lead writer for the site, reaching millions of fans in the process.
