Interviews with Forrest Griffin since his humbling defeat at the hands of Anderson Silva in August have been few and far between. When he has spoken, his comments have suggested that the former light heavyweight champion was still struggling to come to terms with the loss, and had become somewhat jaded with the media and fan attention.

Fast forward a few weeks and Griffin appears in a new video interview for BSN in which he appears in a far more determined and focused frame of mind as he talks about his upcoming fight with Tito Ortiz.

“Right now I’m the most motivated I’ve ever been,” Griffin states with genuine conviction.

Looking ahead to his rematch with Ortiz, he says, “I don’t think either one of us were at our best that day,” before breaking out into his trademark grin as he remarks, “Hopefully I’ve gotten a little better and he’s just gotten older.”

Fans of Griffin, one of the sports best known fighters, will no doubt be happy to see that he appears to have got himself back on track after what appeared to be a rough time after his loss at UFC 101.

With his fight with Ortiz now topping the bill at UFC 106 following the postponement of Lesnar Vs Carwin, it would appear a perfect opportunity for Griffin to avenge a past defeat, and prove that he is still a force to be reckoned with in the light heavyweight division.
